Electrical, electronic or programmable electronic systems (PESs) increasingly carry out safety functions in all application sectors. For computer system technology to be effectively and safely exploited it is essential that critical guidance is given on the safety aspects of these systems. This international standard provides a basis for best practice by considering all relevant E/E/PES and software safety lifecycle phases, from concept to implementation and finally decommissioning.

The course will provide you with:
  • An understanding of relationships between all parts of the standard
  • An overview of hazard and risk assessment including the concept and derivation of Safety Integrity Levels
  • The key concepts relating to the achievement of functional safety
  • The implications of software and hardware design.
